Lindore E. Smith

Lindore E. Smith went home to be with her heavenly father on January 2nd, 2024. 

 Lindore was born Lindore Evelyn Hibbert in Jamaica West Indies to Vincent Hibbert and Doris Mongal. There, she enjoyed playing Badminton and modeling hats. She spent several years at Philadelphia (Church in Jamaica), where she played the organ, piano and sang. Lindore worked for Offset Priniting Company. She was married to Mr. Neville Smith (now deceased) and had a beautiful baby girl, Althea. To have a better life for herself and her daughter, she migrated to the United States. She made a life for herself in Essex County New Jersey. 

 She began working for AIG as an accounting clerk. Lindore stayed with the company for 25 years and made many wonderful friends along the way. 

 Lindore was a longtime member of Brighton Avenue Bible Chapel in East Orange, New Jersey. There she played the piano, organ, participated in vacation bible school, and sang in the choir. She was famous for the delicious punch that she made at church events. 

 Lindore was also an avid baker. Her Christmas cakes were beyond compare. She had many orders to fill during the holidays. She was often asked to make cakes for weddings and other events. 

 She loved spending time with her two grandchildren (Reed & Raegan). She was their Nana. She did the pickup and drop off for school, attended all of their activities and events, and often went on their field trips. 

 Spending time in Jamaica with family was something that she looked forward to every year. She would bake cakes, travel with family, and spend time with her friends. 

 Lindore had the kindest heart. She never complained and spent her days loving and experiencing life.

 Her faith in Christ was of the utmost importance to her. She loved her God and served him faithfully. She will be greatly missed.

Friends and family are invited to celebrate Lindore's life on Friday from 10 am to 12 pm at Brighton Avenue Bible Chapel, 288 Brighton Ave., East Orange, with a service following at 12 pm. Funeral arrangements are in care of Galante Funeral Home, 54 Roseland Avenue, Caldwell.
