Lisa Cowper

Lisa Ann Cowper (née Signorella), aged 62, passed away on Wednesday, January 29, 2025 in Livingston, NJ. 

Lisa was born on August 19, 1962 to parents Dorothy and Joseph. Lisa lived most of her life in Kenilworth, NJ, and most recently lived in Caldwell, NJ to be near her son and his family.

A graduate of David Brearley High School, Lisa enjoyed a career in title insurance which highlighted her persistent detail-oriented nature. Lisa was a music lover of all styles and genres, her favorites ranging from Tony Bennett to Aerosmith. While at home, Lisa was an avid crafter who also loved keeping up with all of the new television shows each season. Perhaps most of all, Lisa loved to cook, especially around the holidays.

Lisa is predeceased by her beloved mother Dorothy Palazza, who died in 2006, and her stepfather Frank who died in 2022. Lisa felt it was very important to keep Dorothy's memory alive by sharing stories, photos, and her favorite recipes.

Lisa is survived by her son, Robert, his wife Laura, and their daughter Rose. Lisa was devoted to Rose and loved her more than life itself. Not a day went by that Lisa didn't check Rose's digital family photo album for new pictures or videos. Lisa resumed crocheting near the end of her life and was very proud to make numerous blankets, hats, scarves and bags for Rose; those handmade items will be a lasting memory for Rose of her Nana. 

Lisa is also survived by her brother Dennis Palazza, his wife Linda, and their children, and many of Robert's friends for whom Lisa served as a second "mom."

Lisa's wishes were for a Celebration of Life where loved ones could share memories and enjoy good food and music. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Lisa on Saturday, February 8, 2025 anytime between 1:00-4:00pm at Cioffi's in Union (929 Stuyvesant Ave).
