Lorraine M. Schillizzi

Lorraine M. Schillizzi (nee Nicol) 83, of Westfield, died on Wednesday Feb. 25, 2015 at Overlook Medical Center in Summit.

The funeral will be from the Galante Funeral Home 2800 Morris Avenue Union, on Monday at 9 am. The funeral mass will be in St. Michael Church in Union at 10:15 am. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery in Westfield. Visitation will be on Sunday from 2-6 pm.

Born in Irvington, she lived in Union for 50 years before moving to Westfield 14 years ago. She was a longtime cook at St. Michael Church Convent in Union for many years. She also was a former longtime Democratic District Leader in Union.

Lorraine was married to her late Husband Leonard J. Schillizzi for 61 years until he died in 2014. She is the mother of Anthony, Mickey and his wife Laura, John and his wife Jennifer, and the late Leonard and Robert Schillizzi. She was also the sister of Rosemarie Leek and the late Helene Hankinson, as well as the grandmother of Craig and Matthew. She was always with her longtime beloved dog Buddy who died 2 days prior to her.
