Lucille Adamo

d. February 16, 2019

Lucille C. Adamo (nee Maitilasso), 91 of Madison passed away peacefully on February 16, 2019 at Pine Acres Healthcare Center in Madison.

Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation for Lucy at the Galante Funeral Home, 54 Roseland Ave. Caldwell on Wednesday from 9:30 to 11 AM. A Funeral Mass will follow, and be celebrated at St. Rose of Lima Church in East Hanover at 11:30 AM. Cremation will be held privately.

Born in East Orange, Lucy lived in Irvington, and then in Florham Park for 30 years before moving to Madison five years ago. She worked as a customer service specialist for Board Room Publications in Millburn for many years, retiring 15 years ago. Lucy enjoyed going to church, and spending time in prayer; always being sure to turn her saints toward the window to assist any of her loved ones in need. Another of Lucy's greatest joys was her grand-daughter, and was overjoyed to be able to live to meet her great-grandson. Family was paramount to Lucy, and she cherished the time she spent with her sisters, a very close knit group. A great cook, she loved treating her family to her world famous soups.

Lucy was predeceased by her beloved husband Frank J. Adamo in 1976. She is the loving mother of Edie Berke and her husband Matthew, and Judy Adamo; dear grandmother of Annie Berke and her husband Josh Alvizu; and special great-grandmother of Oscar Philip Alvizu. Lucy is also survived by her sister Theresa Cignarella, and brother-in-law Nick Damiano. She was a favorite aunt of Rick Ricciardi and his wife Mary, Frank Ricciardi and his wife Kathy, Rich Ricciardi and his wife Susan, Bob Ricciardi and his wife Donna, Richard Cignarella and his wife Mary Ellen, Connie Carrino, Ann Francis and her husband Gordon, and Jim Damiano; and great-aunt to many great-nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her wonderful caregiver Edna Mansu. Lucy was predeceased by her siblings Mildred Ricciardi and her husband Rocco, Marge Damiano, Connie Baldassarre and her husband Nick, Joseph Maitilasso, Tony Maitilasso and his wife Grace, and by her brother-in-law Mick Cignarella.
