Lucille Theresa DeMaio
Lucille Sturchio DeMaio is survived by her husband Peter, her four children Camille Horan, Lisa Mitros, John DeMaio and Joseph DeMaio. She is survived by her four grandchildren Samantha, CJ, Danny and Andrew DeMaio. She is also survived by many family and friends.
Lucille grew up in East Orange and after marrying Peter, lived in Union for many years, before retiring to their home on Long Beach Island. But Union remained her happy place always.
She was loved and adored by many, both family and friends. She was kind and generous. Her grandchildren never missed an opportunity to tease her which she loved and laughed like crazy. That was the joy for all of them.
Her family was always her priority whether she was worrying about someone or questioning whether they are eating enough ! She was a fabulous cook and taught her ways to anyone interested in learning (sometimes knowing she was leaving something out !!) nobody made a better meatball either.....
She showed love and taught her family that it was the most important thing you could give another person. She remembered her parents and shared stories of them with such affection that you felt as though you knew them. She was that person who you could confide in
and know that she would listen with an open heart and give loving advice back.
She will be missed fiercely every day by all of those she touched. We know she is in a better place being with her parents again and her long time beloved friend Kitty. That does give all of us comfort in this sad time.
We love you Lucille, Mom, grandma xoxoxoxox always
