Lucille Moffa

Lucille (Lucy) Moffa, 87, died peacefully on Saturday, May 7, 2016.

Born in Newark, NJ in 1928, Lucille was very popular and often spoke of her athletic accomplishments, winning many medals in track and field.  In her younger years, she worked as an Executive Secretary  at the National Newark and Essex Bank in downtown Newark.  She later worked for the Neptune Police Department.

Lucille lived most of her life in the suburbs of Newark, specifically Nutley and Belleville, and her later years at the Jersey Shore, moving back to Nutley only a few years ago.  Her greatest joy in life was nature and she had a passion for animals.

Lucille was predeceased by her loving mother Nicolina and her father Raphael, as well as her six siblings; Louise, Joseph, Minnie, Ray, Millie, and Mary, and her nephews Louie and Howard.  She is survived by several nieces, JoAnn and her husband Frank, Laynie, and Michelle and her husband Avio, and her nephews Anthony and his wife Lorraine, John and his wife Leslie, Joseph and his wife MaryAnn, Dennis, and Alex and his wife Teresa.  Lucille also leaves behind several great, and great, great nieces and nephews

Lucille will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She is now at peace with her mom, dad, brothers, and sisters.

Entombment will be private at Hollywood Memorial Park in Union. Arrangements are entrusted to the Galante Funeral Home, 54 Roseland Ave. Caldwell.
