Lucy Parese (nee Borzi), 100 of West Caldwell passed away peacefully at her home, under the loving care of her daughter Nancy on January 11, 2019.

A Funeral Service will be celebrated in the Galante Funeral Home, 54 Roseland Ave. Caldwell on Monday at 10:45 AM. Entombment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Visitation is on Monday morning from 10 AM until the time of service.

Born in Irvington on September 17, 1918, Lucy worked as a seamstress in a coat factory in her neighborhood until she met Eddie Parese in 1942. After marrying in 1944, Lucy and Eddie started their family of six children in Belleville, before settling in West Caldwell in 1960. Lucy later worked for Ivers Lee Pharmaceutical in West Caldwell for many years before retiring.

Lucy and Eddie both loved to dance and host parties in their home for friends and relatives.

Lucy was predeceased by her beloved husband Eddie in 1988, and is survived by her six children Jeanette Parese-Davin, Linda Parese, Marianne Parese-Piscolese, Lucille Parese-Bono, Eddie Parese, Jr. and Nancy Parese, a grandson Vincent Edward Bono, and many nieces and nephews.

Lucy's secret for a long life was to stay happy, eat well, and enjoy the comforts of home with your loved ones.
