Luigi Barbato

Luigi Barbato, a longtime resident of Westfield, New Jersey, has passed away peacefully in the company of friends on January 18, 2025 at the age of 75. 

Luigi was born in Italy and later immigrated to what he proudly referred to as “the greatest country of all,” the United States. He brought with him rich traditions, values, dedication to hard work and to helping others. 

His precision and artistry in the garment industry earned him the respect and admiration of many in a profession he cherished throughout his life. 

Luigi‘s greatest joy was to spend time with family and friends, to live in the moment, to laugh and to make others laugh.

He is survived by his two sons Vincent Barbato (Christine) and Fabio Barbato (Jennifer), his six beloved grandchildren Luca, Maria, Angelina, Adriana, Olivia, & Carmella, as well as his extended family Juan, Paula, Carolina and many more family members in Italy, France, Ireland, and the United States. 

Luigi will be remembered fondly by all who knew him. May his memory bring comfort to those who loved him. 

A memorial service to honor Luigi‘s life will be held on Saturday, February 1, 2025 from 2 PM to 6 PM at Galante Funeral Home 2800 Morris Ave., Union, NJ 07083
