Manuel J. Garcia, 50, passed away on March 30, 2015 of Linden, NJ.

Father of Christopher Lee, Phillip Manuel, Stephanie Marie and Emely Teresa.

Son of Felipe and Maria A. (nee Sanchez)

Brother of  Mariah Carmen Garcia.

Grandfather of Mya, Kaylee, Phillip and Caleb.

Manuel was born in Arenas de Cabrales, Spain. He arrived and settled in the Ironbound section of Newark in 1975. Graduated from East Side High School in 1984. After serving in the Air Force Reserve, he attended Essex County College and later Rutgers University.

He was a Detective for 25 years before retiring from the Newark Police Department in the Major Crimes Division.

Visitation on Thursday from 2 – 4 & 7 – 9 PM.

Funeral from the Galante Funeral Home, 17 Pacific St. Newark on Friday at 8:30 AM.

Funeral service will be held at La Hermosa Church 1101 Broad St. in Newark at 9:30 AM
