Manuel Rodrigues

Manuel Rodrigues, 71 of Elizabeth passed away on August 3, 2024.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral service for Manuel at the Galante Funeral Home, 2800 Morris Ave. Union on Thursday at 3 PM. Visitation will follow from 4-7 PM. Cremation will be held privately.

Born in Portugal, Manuel was raised in Africa in the country of Angola. He immigrated with his family to Union in 2001. Manuel worked as a forklift operator for Triunfo Enterprises in Newark for many years, retiring only last year. An avid soccer fan, Manuel loved to cheer on his favorite club, S.L. Benfica. He also enjoyed music, and especially dancing. Above all, Manuel treasured time spent with his family, particularly his grandchildren.

The devoted son of the late Armenio and Maria Augusta, Manuel was the beloved husband of Moema Rodrigues; loving father of Tania Rodrigues and her husband Carlos Vaz, Lori Beth Rodrigues and Fernando Rodrigues and his wife Maria Rojas; and dear grandfather of Luana Martins, Gabrielle Martins, Paloma Martins, Maria Vaz and Diogo Vaz. He was predeceased by his sisters Fatima Rodrigues and Elizabeth Rodrigues.
