Beloved Mother

Margherita Devone (nee Dante), 82 of Ocean Twp., formerly of Hillside, passed away on February 13, 2019.

Funeral is from the Galante Funeral Home, 2800 Morris Ave. Union on Wednesday at 8:30 AM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Catherine's Church in Hillside at 10 AM. Interment will follow at Graceland Memorial Park in Kenilworth. Visitation is on Tuesday from 4-8 PM at the funeral home.

Born in Newark, Margherita lived there before residing in Hillside for many years, finally moving to Ocean Twp. three years ago. She worked as a cashier for Pathmark in Elizabeth for 30 years before retiring.

Marge was an avid traveler who was fortunate to have had many adventures around the world together with her son John, dear cousins Helen Yacullo and Mary Lentini, daughter of heart Virginia Mesz, and many other friends and family.

She was a talented seamstress and doll maker who was generous beyond measure.

Margherita was the loving wife of the late John Devone; beloved mother of Dr. John J. Devone; and dear sister of George A. Dante and the late Joseph G. Dante.
