Maria Capparelli Christadore, 87, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 23, 2016 surrounded by her loving

family.

The funeral will be at the Galante Funeral Home, 2800 Morris Avenue, Union, NJ on Thursday at 9 a.m. The Funeral Mass will be at St. Theresa Church in Kenilworth at 10:30 a.m. Interment to follow at St. Gertrude Cemetery in Colonia. Born in Calabria, Italy, Maria immigrated to the United States in 1932 at the age of 3. She married her love, John D. Christadore, in 1953. The couple resided in Newark and moved to Kenilworth to raise their family.

She spent 28 years as a dedicated employee of the Union County Regional District Board of Education.

As the beloved matriarch of her family, she inspired all with her compassion, wit, and vivacious spirit. She was a devoted and caring mother of 5 children, who loved and adored her as their mom. Her love for her family will never be forgotten by everyone who came to know her.

She is preceded in death by her parents Salvatore and Tomasina Capparelli, and her husband John D. Christadore.

Surviving are her four cherished sons John (Valerie), Michael (Michelle), Joseph (Joy), and Vincent, and her beloved daughter Lisa (Michael) Vizzoni. Also survived by her brother Francis (Florence) Capparelli and sister Concetta (Gary) Braughton.

Admired and loved beyond words by her beloved grandchildren Joseph Michael, GinaMarie, Angela, Diana, Lisa, John Daniel, Jenna, Crista, Michael Jr., and Alissa and great-grandchildren Nicholas, Sicilia, Tommy, Siena, Lia, Rocco, and Ava. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
