Maria C. Costa

Maria C. Costa, 97, of Newark, NJ, passed away peacefully on January 26, 2025. Born in Linhares, Portugal, Maria immigrated to the United States in 1950 with her beloved husband, the late Albert Costa, settling in North Newark to build a new life together.

Maria dedicated over 20 years as a quality control inspector at Gordos in Bloomfield.  After retiring, she spent her days pursuing her passions for cooking, gardening, and traveling, filling her home with warmth and love.

Maria was predeceased by her husband, Albert and her cherished grandson Joseph Costa.

She is survived by her beloved children, Manuel "Manny" Costa and Juliet Masini, and her devoted son-in-law, Ron. She was the proud grandmother of Michael Costa, who brought immense joy to her life.

Maria's kindness, strength, and unwavering love will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She leaves behind a legacy of love and resilience, and her memory will forever remain in the hearts of her family and friends.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 29, 2025, from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at Galante Funeral Home in Union, NJ. A Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Thursday, January 30, 2025, at St. Francis Xavier Church in Newark, NJ. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in East Hanover, NJ.
