Maria Fatima DeJesus

Maria Fatima DeJesus, 67 of Union, passed away at Overlook Hospital in Summit on May 24, 2022, after a courageous battle against cancer.

Born and raised in Funchal, Madeira, Portugal, she arrived in the United States in 1980 and settled in Union.

Maria enjoyed crocheting and gardening, along with keeping a lovely home for her family.

She is survived by her loving husband Antonio Felix DeJesus.

She also leaves behind her son Reggie DeJesus and his wife Danielle, her daughter Stephanie DeJesus and her fiance Neil.

Maria is also survived by her brother Gil Rodrigues and her sisters, Maria Jose and Maria Conceicao.

She also leaves behind her 4 grandchildren. Emily, Mary, Ryan and Jonathan.

Maria was the backbone of her family and will be missed by all.

Family and friends are kindly invited to attend a visitation for Maria on Friday, May 27 from 4-8 PM at the Galante Funeral Home 2800 Morris Avenue, Union.

Those who will be attending the Funeral are asked to meet at the Galante Funeral Home 2800 Morris Avenue, Union on Saturday May 28 at 8:30 AM.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 10 AM on Saturday May 28 at Our Lady of Fatima Church in Newark.

Cremation will be held privately.
