Maria A Oliveira

Maria A. Oliveira (nee Alves), 63, of Union, NJ, passed peacefully on September 17, 2022. Born in Portugal, Maria arrived in the U.S. in 1983 and settled in the Ironbound section of Newark. She and her family later moved to Union. Maria loved gardening in her backyard. She also loved to bake a variety of baked goods. Her favorite things to bake were elaborate wedding and birthday cakes for family and friends. Painting was a past time she loved to do as she most often loved to paint landscapes.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation for Maria on Wednesday, September 21, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Galante Funeral Home, 2800 Morris Ave. Union. A Funeral Service will be celebrated in the funeral home on Thursday at 9:30 am. Cremation will be held privately. Maria leaves behind her devoted husband, Manuel, and cherished children, Licinio and his wife Ashley and Ana Lamparelli and her husband Anthony along with Maria's brothers and sister, Gustavo, Antonio, Manuel, Armindo, and Graca Borges. Maria also leaves behind her grandchildren, Alyssa, Isabella, and Eliana.
