Maria C. Racanelli, 59 of Union passed away at Overlook Hospital on April 26, 2014.

Funeral is from the Galante Funeral Home, 2800 Morris Ave. Union on Friday at 8:30 AM. Funeral Mass is at Good Shepherd Church in Irvington at 10:30 AM. Cremation is private. Visitation is on Thursday from 5 - 9 PM.

Born in Newark, Maria lived in Irvington before moving to Union 25 years ago. She worked at Network Temp Agency in Montclair for the past 5 years, previously having worked at Manpower Temp Agency in South Orange for 15 years. And prior she was a hairdresser with a salon in New York City for 10 years. She loved cooking and tending to her garden. Her life was devoted to maintain a green enviornment.

Maria was the beloved wife of Jaime Lazodelavega. She was the loving mother of Lucy Lazodelavega; and sister of Frank, Angelo, Anthony and Vito Racanelli; Anna Raunch, Nancy Remollino and Carmella Racanelli. Daughter of her beloved parents the late Vito and Lucia. She is also survived by nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind her Jellybean and Pepper.
