Maria Rodriguez – Elizabeth NJ- formally of the Ironbound Section of Newark

Maria Rodriguez (nee Hermida) 93 passed away Wednesday November 18, 2020

Born November 18, 1927 – Deceased November18,2020

Maria is predeceased by her brothers Fernando Hermida and Joseph Hermida

She was a single mother, earned her living as a factory worker, raising her only child in the Ironbound section of Newark

She is survived by her son Fernando, daughter in law Diane,

grandchildren Thomas, and Matthew, and great grandchildren Luke and Emilia

As well she is survived by cousins Gina Fosco, Terry Lopez, and Joseph Gonzales, and niece Gloria Frischmann

She was able travel later in life, to Galicia, Spain, the birthplace of her father,

and to Hawaii, Canada, and Mexico with her lifelong friend Josephine Zapata

Since late 2014 she was a resident of Amber Court assisted living in Elizabeth,

enjoying the wonderful care of the staff there.
