Marie Della Cuozzo (Peggy) 87, of Newark, died on Thursday Dec. 15, 2011, at Clara Maass Medical Center in Bellville.
The funeral is from the Galante Funeral Home 2800 Morris Ave. Union, on Monday at 8 am. Funeral mass is at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Newark (Ironbound) at 9:30 am. Interment is in Holy Cross Cemetery. Visitation is Sunday from 2-6 pm. For directions or to send condolences visit galantefh.com.
Born in Newark, she was a lifelong resident. She was an administrative assistant at National Newark and Essex Bank in Newark for 44 years, and then held the same type of position at the North Ward Cultural Center in Newark for 10 years before retiring 25 years ago. A member of the Rosary Altar Society, and the Mount Carmel Society, of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, she was also a member of the Ironbound Senior Citizens Club.
Marie was the daughter of the late Florence (nee Mirandi) and John Cuozzo, the sister of Anthony (Champ) Cuozzo and his wife Lillian (Tootie) , Vincent Cuozzo and his wife Nina, and the late Teddy.
In lieu of flowers the family prefers memorials be made to Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church 259 Oliver St. Newark, N.J. 07105 in her memory.
