The family has requested private servicMarion Rose Mentzel (nee Baccaro) entered into eternal rest on Saturday Dec. 17, 2011 at the Berkeley Heights Nursing and Rehabilation Center .
She was 91 years old.
Marion was born and raised in Newark and lived in Springfield for the past 39 years. She was the daughter of the late John & Catherine (Reilly) Baccaro.
In addition to being a homemaker, Marion worked at the Newark Housing Authority for over 20 years retireing in 1988.
She was predeceased by her husband of 62 years, William Mentzel (2008) and her brother Jack Baccaro.
Surviving are her devoted children, Brian and Cathy Mentzel and her sister, Virginia Baccaro.
A mass of Christian Burial was offered at St. James the Apostle Church Springfield on Friday December 23. Interment followed at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
