Marisa V. Caruso, 52, of Union, N.J., died on Sunday, Oct. 28, 2012, at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center. The funeral is from the Galante Funeral Home,17 Pacific Street, Newark, Tuesday November 6, 2012 at 8:30 a.m. The Funeral Mass will be at St. Michael Church, 1212 Kelly St., corner of Vauxhall Road, Union, at 10:15 a.m. Interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery in Piscataway, N.J. Visitation will be on Monday from 4 to 8 p.m.
Born in Maracaibo, Venezuela, Marisa lived in Union all of her life. She received a master's degree and a bachelor of arts degree from Kean University in Union. She was a teacher at Hannah Caldwell School in Union for 28 years. She loved cooking and entertaining for her family and friends.
Marisa was the daughter of Virginia (nee Custode) and the late Mario Caruso; mother of Christina Loglisci; and longtime companion of Lionel Lima and his family. She was also the sister of Gina Colacchio and her husband Bill, and Edmund Caruso; godmother and aunt of Vincent Mario, and grandmother of Isabella, Jack, and John
