Martin Fitzgerald

Martin R. Fitzgerald, 51 of Highland Park, formerly of Edison passed away on January 7, 2022.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation for Martin at the Galante Funeral Home, 2800 Morris Ave. Union on Sunday January 16 from 12 - 3 PM, with a funeral service being celebrated at 2:30 PM. Cremation will be held privately. For those unable to attend, a zoom livestream will be provided beginning on Sunday at 2:00 PM, which can be accessed by using Meeting ID 997 533 3817 Password 2800.

Born in New Brunswick, Martin was a longtime Edison resident. He recently worked for BJ's Wholesale Club in Edison as a meat department clerk.

Martin had a beautiful voice, and could be heard singing every day. He enjoyed cooking meals for those he loved, and was a hardworking man. Martin had a close relationship with God, and loved to preach His teachings. Martin was also a good friend, and helped many to to further their education.

Martin was the loving son of Milton R. and the late Sadie (Vaxter) Fitzgerald; devoted father of Monique Fitzgerald, and cherished grandfather of Adalina and Ivy. He was also the dear brother of Milton R. Fitzgerald, Jr., Mervin R. Fitzgerald and Marlow R. Fitzgerald and his wife Rosa. Martin was also the loving great-uncle of Amiyah, and is also survived by many other loving nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, a Go Fund Me has been set up to assist the family with Martin's final expenses.
