Mary R. Baran, 93, of Union, passed away on Monday, June 29, 2015 at Overlook Hospital in Summit.

The funeral will be from the Galante Funeral Home, 2800 Morris Avenue, Union, NJ, on Friday at 8:30 am. The Funeral Mass will be at St. Joseph Church in Maplewood at 10 am. Entombment to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in East Hanover. Visitation will be on Thursday from 4 to 7 pm.

Born in Davidov, Czechoslovakia, Mary lived in Newark and Irvington prior to moving to Union in 1976.

Mary was the owner of Barans Hardware Store in Newark for 40 years. She was a member of the St. Joseph's Rainbow Club.

Beloved wife of the late Albin; loving mother of Ann Marie Nieves; sister of John Ondo and the late Helen Ondo; grandmother of Jeffrey Nieves.
