Mary Benko

Mary Benko (nee Horvath), 82 of Kenilworth passed away at home into the arms of Jesus on February 24, 2014.

Funeral is from the Galante Funeral Home 2800 Morris Ave. Union on Friday at 9:30 AM. Funeral mass is at St. Theresa Church in Kenilworth at 11 AM. Entombment is private. Visitation is on Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM.

Mary was born in New York City on July 8, 1931, she moved years later to Matawan and then resided in Kenilworth for the past 49 years.

She was the beloved wife of the late Michael Albert Benko. Cherished loving mother of her sons Michael and his wife Cheryl, Kenneth and his wife Maryann; and her devoted daughter Ellen Spencer and her husband Troy. Loving grandmother of Rachel, Kenneth C., and Alisha and her husband Rory; and newly a great-grandmother to Deaglan. She is also survived by her brothers Michael Horvath, Martin Horvath, Jr. and his wife Peggy; as well as her niece Sheryll and her husband Rob; and her great-nephew Tyce.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Compassionate Care Hospice 11 Independence Way Dover, DE 19713; or to the National Breast Cancer Foundation 2600 Network Blvd. Frisco, TX 75034 in her memory.
