Mary  L. Granato,  (nee Capriglione)  93, passed away peacefully with her family by her side

on Wednesday, January 24, 2017.

The funeral is from the Galante Funeral Home, 2800 Morris Avenue, Union, on Monday, January 29th at 9:30 a.m., thence to Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, Newark, for the funeral mass at 11:00 a.m.  Visitation is Sunday, January 28th from 2-6 p.m.

Mary was born on September 22, 1924, in the Ironbound section of Newark, N.J.  She was always dedicated to her family.  Mary and her beloved husband, Carmine lived in Newark their entire life.

Mary was a Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, and Sister.  Her life was her family.   She loved her family and put their well being above all else.

She was the beloved wife of Carmine for 70 years, devoted mother of Mary Mavilla, Geraldine Marano and her husband Carmen, Alfonso and Carolyn and son Carmen.  The cherished grandmother of AnnaMarie, Frank, Carmen, and John, great-grandmother to Michael, Gianna, Isabella, Anthony, Carmen, Dominic and Sophia, and a new member of our family William.

She will remain in our hearts forever.
