Mary D. La Salle (nee  Riccardello) 95, of East Orange died on Sunday May 25, 2014 at Somerset Medical Center in Somerville.

The funeral is from the Galante Funeral Home 2800 Morris Avenue in Union on Friday at 8;30 am. The funeral mass will be in St Joseph Church in  East Orange, at 10 am Entombment to follow in Hollywood Memorial Park in Union. Visitation will be on Thursday from 2-4  & 7-9 pm.

Born in Newark she was a lifelong resident of East Orange. She was a draft person for the Edison Phonograph Co in Newark for 5 years, and then worked on special projects for the US Navy in the Edison Building in West Orange from 1942-1946. Later on She worked for Tung Sol Corporation in Newark for 3 years. She has been retired for 30 years. She was also a member of the Rosary Society of St. Joseph Church in East Orange.

Mary was married to her late husband Nicholas V. La Salle for 46 years until he passed away in 1997. She is the mother of Thomas V.  La Salle and his wife Angela, and Donna M. La Salle - Baskin, and is the sister of Jennie Diakow, as well as the grandmother of Melissa Flanders, and Tara Marie Cruz, and the great grandmother of Christopher, April Lynn, and Eric Nicholas.
