Mary J. Romano

Mary J. Romano (nee Romano) 90, of  Morganville, died on Sunday Feb. 10 ^th , 2013 at home.

The visitation is at the Galante Funeral Home 2800 Morris Ave,. Union on Friday from 4-8 pm.

A memorial mass will be held for Mary and Dominic T. Romano on Saturday Feb. 23 ^rd , 2013 at St. Lucy Church in Newark at 10:30 am.

Entombment will take place in Gate of Heaven Cemetery in East Hanover at a later date at the convenience of the family.

Born in Newark, she lived in Coconut Creek, Fla. for 23 years until she moved to Morganville 7 years ago.  She was a teacher’s aide at Franklin School in Newark for 25 years, until she retired 27 years ago. She was a member of the Deborah Heart and Lung Hospital Association for many years.

Mary was married to her late husband Dominic T. Romano for 65 years until he passed away  in 2009. She was the mother of Robert Romano and his wife Theresa, and Richard Romano and his wife Zaida. She was also the sister of the late Anthony, Angelo, and James Romano, Mildred Purcell, and Rose Bove, as well as the grandmother of Jessica and her husband John Dougherty, Marleny, Gianna, Dominic, Vincent, and Robert Romano.

In lieu of flowers the family prefers memorials be sent to Deborah Heart and Lung Hospital   200 Trenton Rd  Browns Mills, NJ 08015  (609) 893-6611 or to the Alzheimer’s Association in her memory.
