Mary A. Tobia

Mary A Tobia (nee Biondi) 91 of Union, passed away at home on Monday, August 31, 2015 surrounded by her loving family.

The funeral will be from the Galante Funeral Home 2800 Morris Avenue, Union on Friday at 8:30 am. The funeral mass will be in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Newark at 10:30 am. Entombment will follow in Hollywood Memorial Park in Union. Visitation will be on Thursday from 4-8 pm.

Born in Newark she lived in the Ironbound Section of Newark before moving to Union 54 years ago. She was a lifetime parishioner  of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Newark and a member of the Our Lady of Mount Carmel Society of that church.

She was the beloved Wife for 70 years of the late Larry Tobia who predeceased  her on February 25, 2015. She is survived by her loving sons Louis and his wife Patricia, Jerry and his wife Barbara, and Augie and his wife Mindy. She was the cherished grandmother of Jennifer, Maria, Louis Jr, Gerald Jr, Michael, Angela, Lisa, and Steven, and the loving Great Grandmother of 14  Great Grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Carmella Zirpoli.

Mary was a true old fashioned homemaker who loved to clean, cook, and bake. She loved and cherished her family. She was a religious woman  who walked a path of kindness and offered all of her prayers for everyone. In lieu of flowers the family prefers that
