Matilda Pepe

Matilda Pepe, 88 of Bethlehem, PA died peacefully on December 15, 2023.
Matilda was born on 10/24/35 in San Bartolomeo en Galdo, Italy to the late Pasquale and Carmelina Ruggiero. She was raised in Orange, NJ after immigrating to the US in 1947 at the age of 12. She met and married the love of her life Anthony (Tony) Pepe in 1957 and were married for 64 years upon his passing in March 2022.  They resided in Springfield, NJ and raised their children there. Together they owned an Italian specialty store in Millburn, NJ. After the store closed in 1978 Matilda was employed by Kings Supermarket for 16 years. Upon retiring they moved to Four Seasons Adult Community in Lakewood, NJ. Matilda was active playing golf, bowling, bocce and with Tony traveled to many locations around the world. She made many wonderful friends and memories.
Matilda is survived by her daughter Lina Fedynyshyn (Michael), her son Peter Pepe (Jean) as well as grandchildren Anthony Pepe (Annie), Matthew Pepe, Kyra Fedynyshyn (fiance’ Neill McGowan) and Erika Fedynyshyn. She also leaves behind many loving nieces and nephews.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Galante Funeral Home. A visitation will take place on 12/28/23, at Galante Funeral Home 2800 Morris Avenue, Union, NJ 07083 from 10AM – 12PM EST. A prayer service will take place at noon, followed immediately by a burial service at St. Teresa Cemetery, 136 Passaic Avenue Summit, NJ.
