Mercedes M. Fernandez 88, of Somerset passed away on October 19, 2021.

Daughter of the late Nicolas and Maria Rey Fernandez.

Sister of the late Nicolas Fernandez Jr.

Cousin of Karl William Rey of Arizona.

God Mother of Emily Guelph.

She is also survived by many relatives in Spain.

Mercedes was born in Spain, settled in the Ironbound section of Newark, and lived in Garwood for many years before moving to Bridgewater.

She was a Secretary with Florescent Products in Newark for over 20 years before her retirement.

Mercedes was known for her very giving nature and she was always ready to help others.

Arrangements are by the Galante Funeral Home, 2800 Morris Ave Union.

In honor of Mercedes' wishes, no public viewing will be held.

A Crypt side service will be held on Wednesday Oct. 27 at 12:30PM at Hollywood Memorial Park in Union, NJ.
