Mercedes D. Lopez 81, of Union, N.J. died on Wednesday October 4, 2017 at Overlook Medical Center in Summit, N.J

. The funeral will be from the Galante Funeral Home 2800 Morris Ave. Union, N.J. on Saturday at 9 am.

The funeral mass will be in St. Michael Church in Union at 10:15 am.

Visitation will be on Friday from 3-7pm.  .

Born in Newark, N.J. she lived in Union for 52 years. She was a tax specialist for the IRS in Newark for 40 years. Retiring in 1996.

Mercedes is the beloved  sister of Josephine Lopez, and the cousin of Manuel Cid, and Christa Grote, Kathryn Cid, Erica Wittel, Ken Wittel, Cheryl Trapani, Joseph Trapani III, Joseph Trapani IV, and Andrew Trapani.
