Messina Connie Di Cocco

Messina “Connie” Di Cocco (nee Di Carlo) 83 of Springfield, died on Friday February 10th, 2012 at St. Peter Hospital in New Brunswick.


The funeral is from the Galante Funeral Home 2800 Morris Avenue, Union, on Thursday at 8 am. The mass of christian burial is at St James Church in Springfield at 9:15 am.


Entombment will follow in Hollywood Memorial Park in Union.


Visitation will be on Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm.


Born in Italy she lived in Springfield for many years. She was a beautician for Saks, Lord & Taylor, and Macy’s for many years. On election days she would also volunteer as a poll worker, and was a member of the Columbiettes Chapter of the Knights of Columbus Msgr. Francis X. Coyle Council # 5560 in Springfield.


Connie was the loving wife of Dionisio (Dan) for 66 years, and was the devoted mother John and Dino Di Cocco. She was the sister of Rosaria Santorio, Mary Randolph, and Ines Paniccia, as well as the cherished grandmother of Dana, Christopher, Rachael, Amanda, Daniel, and Jesse.
