Mazela Macena

Mazela Macena, 99 of Hillside passed away at home on September 24, 2022.

Wife of the late Lavoie.

Mother of Mona Noncent, and Mario Noncent and his wife Abeline.

Beloved grandmother of Kenny, Trish and Jennifer.

Mazela was born and raised in Haiti. Before she arrived in the United States in 2008 she was a farmer, maintaining a large sugar crop.

She also had a distilling business for many years while in Haiti, turning sugarcane into alcoholic beverages for sale.

Visitation will be on Thursday morning October 6 from 9 - 11 AM at the Galante Funeral Home, 2800 Morris Ave in Union,

followed by a funeral mass at Christ the King Church in Hillside at 11:30 AM.

Entombment will follow at Hollywood Memorial Park in Union.
