Beloved Uncle and National Guardsman

Michael J. Morano 78, of the Ironbound section of Newark, passed away on Thursday April 13, 2017 at home surrounded by his loving family.

The funeral was conducted  from the  Galante Funeral Home 2800 Morris Ave. Union, NJ on Monday April 17, 2017 at 10:30 am.

The funeral mass was held  in St. James Church  in Newark at 11 am.

Interment followed in Holy Cross Cemetery in North Arlington, NJ.

Visitation was  on Monday April 17, 2017 from 9 - 10:30 am.

Born in Newark he was  a lifelong resident of the Ironbound Section of Newark.

A Machinist for General Motors Corp. in Clark for 25 years, he later became a maintenance worker for the Board of Education for the City of Newark for 10 years, retiring 15 years ago.

He was a veteran of the US Army - National Guard serving during peacetime, and a member of the St. Jude Retreat Group for 45 years

as well as an usher at St. James Church in Newark for many years.

Michael is the son of the late Mae (nee Cornacchia) and the late Dominic Morano, and is the brother of Joseph Morano and his wife Agnes, Theresa Russomanno and her husband Matthew, and Gerard Morano and his wife Candy.

He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
