With great sorrow we mournfully announce the passing of Michael J. Perna Jr., age 51. Certainly too soon and unexpected to everyone, including himself, he suffered a quick and hopefully painless death on April 25, 2023.
He had a large personality, a friend to everyone and a big heart.
Michael was employed as a maître d' caterer and loved his job. He possessed an infectious personality that could carry him many places with all kinds of people. Michael could be quite the charmer!
He was predeceased by his mother and father, Bernadette and Micheal J. Perna Sr. His grandparents, Dick and Josephine Fernandez, William and Mary Perna, Joseph and Catherine Orangeo.
He is survived by his sisters Michelle and Celeste. Brother in-law Phil Ligus. Ellen Ramer-Fernandez (wife of Dick Fernandez) Tony Margotta (long time companion of Bernadette Perna) Michael was loved by his nieces and nephews - Arielle, (husband Michael) Adriana (fiancé Vinny) Jack, Jake and Carson. As well as, his great niece and nephew - Adalina and Michael.
Michael’s untimely passing leaves a great sadness in our family’s hearts and a void in everyone he touched. He will certainly be missed.

Family and Friends are invited to attend a visitation for Michael at The Galante Funeral Home 2800 Morris Avenue in Union on Sunday April 30 from 3-7 PM.  A funeral Service will be held at Galante Funeral Home on Monday May 1 at 11:00 AM to be followed by Interment at Fairview Cemetery 1100 E. Broad Street, Westfield.
