Michael Tavaglione

Michael J. Tavaglione, 90 of Manahawkin passed away peacefully on July 7, 2019.

Funeral is from the Galante Funeral Home, 2800 Morris Ave. Union on Thursday July 11 at 9 AM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Helena Church, 950 Grove Ave. Edison at 10:30 AM. Interment will follow at St. Gertrude Cemetery in Colonia. Visitation is on Wednesday from 5-9 PM at the funeral home.

Born in Orange, NJ to the late Joseph and Josephine (nee Vitale) Tavaglione, Michael lived there before moving with his family to East Orange, and finally to Manahawkin 31 years ago.A veteran of the United States Army, Michael worked in the construction business as a foreman for some time, and spent many years serving as a shop steward for Pabst Blue Ribbon in Newark before retiring. Michael enjoyed frequent trips to Atlantic City, and especially loved crabbing. If Michael took you to one of his secret crabbing spots, you knew you were truly loved. A hard worker who fiercely provided for his family, Michael most treasured sitting in the company of family and friends, sipping a nice glass of wine, or a cold beer.

Michael was the beloved husband to the late Elizabeth (nee DelSordi) Tavaglione. He was the loving father of Joseph Tavaglione, Judy Tavaglione and Michele Miceli and her husband Jake. He leaves to cherish his memory his wonderful grandchildren Lorenzo Miceli, Marissa Simoes and her husband Manny, Keith Krzastek and his wife Tori, Jonathan Krzastek and his wife Melissa, Michael Tavaglione and his wife Kara, and Erica D'Aries and her husband Michael. He was also the dear great-grandfather of Liliana, Nico, Luca, Michaela, Anthony, Mila, Joseph and Juliana.
