He was a coal miner in West Virginia before moving to Newark and working as a Longshoreman until his retirement. He was a member of the Local ILA 1235 in Newark and a founding member of Centro Orensano in Newark.
Husband of 69 years to Manuela (nee Vilanova).

Lelo to his granddaughters Raquel, Elisa, Sonia and her husband Stephen Paczkowski, and to his Great-Grandchildren Sydney and Joshua, who will honor his memory for rest of their lives. He also leaves a tremendous extended family and many, many friends who will miss him dearly.
