Minnie Alfano

Minnie Alfano (nee Renna) 97, of Union, passed away on Monday August 24, 2015 in Overlook Medical Center

in Summit.

The funeral will be from the Galante Funeral Home 2800 Morris Avenue Union, on Friday at 8:30 am.

The funeral mass will be in St. Lucy Church in Newark at 10 am.

Interment will follow in Glendale Cemetery in Bloomfield.

Visitation will be on Wednesday from 7-9 pm and Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm.

Born in Newark, she lived there most of her life until she moved to Union 4 years ago.

She was a member of the St. Gerard Society at St. Lucy Church, and a former member of the Peter Rodino Civic Association Ladies Auxiliary both of Newark, and also was President of the Cornell Hall Residents Association in Union.

Minnie was married to her late husband John B. Alfano for 60 years until he died in 2002.

She is the mother of Joseph Alfano, Sandra Delli Santi and her husband Frank,

the late Salvatore Alfano,

and  the late Mary Ann Giordano.

She is also the mother in law of Michael Iskander and his wife Regina, the sister of Loretta Renna, and Edith Bocchini.

She was  the grandmother of 8 grandchildren, and 11 Great Grandchildren.
