Mitchizko "Mikko" Mendoza-Ryals

Mitchizko "Mikko" Mendoza-Ryals, 58 of Union passed away on March 16, 2025.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation for Mikko at the Galante Funeral Home, 2800 Morris Ave. Union on Thursday March 20 from 1-3 & 5-8 PM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Michael's Church in Union on Friday at 10:15 AM. Entombment will follow at St. Gertrude Cemetery in Colonia.

Born in Lipa City, Batangas, Philippines, Mikko immigrated to the United States in 1988, and has been a Union resident for 25 years. She was a dedicated office manager for Rutgers University Behavioral Health Care for the past 14 years. A talented baker and cook, Mikko also enjoyed knitting and caring for her plants. An avid video game enthusiast, her favorite was Game of Thrones, which she always looked forward to playing with her friends on Discord. Above all, Mikko was known as a selfless lady who put others before herself, especially her cherished grandchildren.

The devoted daughter of Victorino and Yolanda (Silva) Mendoza, Mikko was the beloved wife of James Ryals; loving mother of Kayla Ryals and Cody Mendoza-Ryals and his wife Louise Ryals. She was the proud grandmother of Gwenavere and Santino, who lovingly referred to her as Nanay; and the dear sister of Arnel Mendoza and his wife Socorro, Chona Coffman, Victorino Mendoza and his wife Alina, Erwin Mendoza and his wife Roma and Bernadette Mendoza. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews Matthew, Victoria, Christina, Alison, Gabrielle, Robert, Paolo, Jecht, Seanan, Erin, Angelina and Leonardo, and by many loving aunts, uncles and extended family members.
