Morris J. Saverino 86, of Springfield, passed away at St. Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston on September 7, 2014.

Funeral is from the Galante Funeral Home 2800 Morris Ave. Union on Thursday at 8:30 AM. Funeral Mass is at St James Church Springfield at 10 AM. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.  Visitation is on Wednesday from 3 - 7 PM.

Born in Newark he lived in Union and Springfield.  Morris worked for Elastic Stop Nut in Union for many years. He was a member of the Elks Club #2004 of Springfield.  Morris was skilled at many trades and was always there to help friends and family. Morris enjoyed working in his work shop and trips to Atlantic City, but mostly enjoyed his Sunday macaroni with his family.

Morris is the husband of Helen (Nee Milito). Father of Tom Saverino and his wife Carrie, Gail Nasisi and her husband John, Maryann Zelenenki and her husband Steve and Phyllis Nitti and her husband Bob. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren  and 7 great grandchildren.
