Nancy D'Alessandro Marcotte, 63 years of age, a Spring Lake Heights resident, passed away peacefully on May 1, 2018, at her home. She was surrounded by her loving daughter, Anna Marcotte, her family,friends, caregivers, and her loyal doggie, Lily.
Nancy was born on Thanksgiving Day, November 25, 1954, and was raised in Union, New Jersey. Nancy graduated from Union High School in 1972 and attended Franklin Pierce College in New Hampshire and graduated from Seton Hall University.
Nancy married Ken Marcotte and is survived by her mother, Connie D'Alessandro,her daughter, Anna, her brother Edward and wife Beth from Iselin, New Jersey and sister Diane D'Alessandro, from Manhattan. Nancy has 3 nieces and nephews: Steven, Matthew and Lisa. She was predeceased by her father Gennaro D'Alessandro.
Nancy was an exceptional mother to Anna.
Nancy was also an accomplished chef throughout her career. Nancy opened her own very successful restaurant in Westfield with her then husband,Ken Marcotte, and they jointly owned the highly acclaimed restaurant "Marcottes".
When Nancy moved to Spring Lake Heights, she continued her career under "Marcotte Catering". Nancy's brilliant creativity in the kitchen made her catering career very successful. Nancy provided creativity and amazing gourmet dishes for all her clients and the events which she catered.
Many local residents will also know Nancy as a founding member of the "Spring Lake Dog Group". Every morning for many years, the dog group meets at the north end group and have formed a special kinship around their mutual love of dogs.
Nancy's generous and eternal optimism was a gift to all who knew her. Nancy will be dearly missed by all whose lives she touched. On the wall in her room, there is a framed saying, "Blessed are the curious for they shall have adventures". That says a lot about Nancy's thirst for life!

Funeral services are private, in the care of the Galante Funeral Home, 2800 Morris Ave. Union.

In lieu of flowers, donations are being accepted for Anna's continued education in the pursuit of a career in nursing.
