Nettie Urban

Nettie Urban (nee Leskitz), 86 of Springfield passed away on August 11, 2015 at Brandywine Senior Living at Howell.

Funeral Service will be held in the Galante Funeral Home, 2800 Morris Ave. Union on Friday at 11 AM. Interment will follow at Hollywood Memorial Park. Visitation is on Friday from 9 to 11 AM.

Born in Newark, Nettie was a long time Springfield resident. She worked as a secretary at Prudential, Equitable and John Hancock Insurance Companies for many years. She was very active in Springfield throughout her life, notably in the Girl Scouts and PTA; and also in Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, where she served as President of the Trinity Fellowship, a council and choir member, and on the Ladies Altar Guild. Nettie was also proud of her service to the VFW Auxiliary.

Nettie was predeceased by her beloved husband of 53 years, Milan. She is survived by her loving daughters Nanci Urban and Nina Bombardier; grand-daughter Lindsey Blackburn and her husband Jordan; great-granddaughter Murray Mae Blackburn; several nieces and nephews; and her dear companion of 10 years Brian Donnelly.
