Nicholas M. Donofrio

Nicholas M. Donofrio 74, of Union died on Wednesday December 23, 2015 at home. The funeral will be from the Galante Funeral Home 2800 Morris Ave. Union, on Tuesday at 9 am. The funeral mass will be in St. Theresa Church in Kenilworth at 10:30 am. Entombment will follow in Hollywood Memorial Park in Union. Visitation will be on Monday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm.

Born in Newark he resided in Union for 45 years. He worked for the Roto Rooter Corporation for 50 years until he retired in 2014. An avid Giants fan he enjoyed vacationing in Italy, Hawaii, and his home away from home in Fort Myers Beach, Fla.

Nick is survived by his daughter Gina and her husband Chuck Collins, his sister Rose Marie Schwarzman and her husband Donald, His brother Michael Donofrio and his wife Liz, his long time companion Phyllis Monguso, his nephew Mark Schwarzman, and nieces Deana Conlon, Donna Marie Paterson, Donna Lucille Dullaghan, and Michele Bonassisa. He is also survived by  his extended family Debbie Carlucci and her husband Mike, Anthony Monguso, Kimberly Monguso, and grandchildren Michael, Kelsey, Anthony, and Allie.  Mr. Donofrio was predeceasesd by his wife Carmela (nee Palermo).
