Nicolina Bruccoleri

Nicolina Bruccoleri, 91 of Springfield passed away on July 28, 2022.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation for Nicolina at the Galante Funeral Home, 2800 Morris Ave. Union on Sunday August 7 from 2-6 PM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. James Church in Springfield on Monday at 10 AM. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.

Born in Gualtieri, Messina, Italy, Nicolina immigrated to the United States with her family, passing through Ellis Island on April 27, 1948. She settled in New York, and later in Newark until moving to Springfield in 1970. Nicolina was a talented seamstress, and an amazing hostess and cook. However, she was most known for her delicious cookies. Nicolina held her family nearest to her heart, and was a kind, devoted and loving mother, aunt and Nonna.

Nicolina was predeceased by the love of her life, her beloved husband Joseph Bruccoleri. She was the loving mother of Antonia Baseil and her husband Philip, Dominick Bruccoleri and his wife Elizabeth and Orsola Andersen and her husband Michael; proud Nonna of Nicole Anne Kruger and her wife Danielle, Michael Andersen and his wife Brittany, Nina Andersen, Christopher Bruccoleri, Kylie Bruccoleri and the late Joseph Baseil. She was the adoring great-grandmother of Aiden Joseph Kruger, and is also survived by her sister Anna Colosi, and by many loving nieces and nephews. Nicolina was predeceased by her brother Gaetano Geraci.
