Nydia Roman, 80, of Newark, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 27, 2016, at Overlook Hospital in Summit, surrounded by her loving family.

The funeral is from the Galante Funeral Home, 2800 Morris Avenue, Union, NJ on Thursday at 10 am. Interment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in North Arlington. Visitation is Wednesday from 5 to 9 pm.

Born in Puerto Rico, Nydia lived in Newark.  She enjoyed kids and worked at The Centre Day Care in Newark for many years.

Nydia was a well dressed woman with a love for dancing, gardening and pets.

Beloved wife of the late Diego Louis Roman; Loving mother of Nasser Roman and his wife Elizabeth, Louis Albert Roman and his wife Dawn, and Helen Roman and her husband Jaime Munoz; Grandmother of Nicole, Herna, Louis, Herna, Mathew and great grandmother of Luis, Catalina and Vanessa.
