Palma Ann Sansone
January 27, 1927 - September 23, 2022
Palma Ann Sansone, (nee Sorbera), passed away peacefully on September 23, 2022, surrounded by her loving family. She was 95 years old.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend a visitation for Palma at the Galante Funeral Home, 2800 Morris Ave., Union on Tuesday, September 27 from 8:30am to 10:30am. Following the visitation, a Funeral Mass will be celebrated at the Parish Community of Saint Helen in Westfield at 11:00am. Entombment will follow at St. Gertrude Cemetery in Colonia.
Palma was born in Clearfield, PA, to Mary (nee Pratt) and Ignazio Sorbera on January 27, 1927. Palma was a parishioner of the Parish Community of Saint Helen in Westfield. She was a longtime member of the City of Linden Senior Citizens Tremley Point Club and she greatly enjoyed the Atlantic City bus trips to the casinos that the club always sponsored.
Palma worked at Howard Press in Linden as a bindery operator and she retired in 1989. She was the beloved wife for 65 years to Salvatore Sansone who predeceased her in 2019, whom lovingly referred to her constantly as “his bride.” She was the devoted mother of Donna Sansone and Linda Kaspar and her husband, Steven. Palma was the cherished grandmother of Nicole Ezell and her husband, Jeremy. Later in life, she greatly enjoyed large-print crossword and word search puzzles which Nicole loved buying for her. She also loved art and coloring with her caregivers, and would be extremely pleased that the Mets clinched a playoff spot this year. She is survived by her sisters, Margaret Pezza and Evelyn McCartney and brothers, Philip Sorbera and Raymond Sorbera and by many loving nieces and nephews. Palma was predeceased by her sisters, Carmella Socie, Rose Seaber, Josephine Cordy, and brother, Anthony Sorbera.
