Paul K. Cheety, passed away on March 7, 2024. He was born in Elizabeth and later built his life in Union, New Jersey.
He was dedicated iron worker with Local 480 Elizabeth for 30 years and a committed special police officer in Union for 15 years. Paul's passion for craftsmanship extended beyond his professional work; he found joy in building motorcycles and had a love for jewelry like watches, chains, and rings.
Paul's proudest accomplishments reflected his sense of community and service. He was an active member of various organizations, notably the Knights of Columbus and Elks in Union. Furthermore, he served as the State Treasurer for the New Jersey State Law Enforcement Officers Association, demonstrating his unwavering commitment to public service and upholding the law.
In his personal life, Paul was surrounded by love and support. He is survived by his beloved wife Maria, his son Paul, daughter-in-law Lauren, grandson Carter, and granddaughter Milan. His presence in their lives will be deeply missed but forever cherished.
Paul is preceded in death by his parents Paul and Dorothy Cheety, as well as his sister Barbara Cheety. Their memory will live on through the stories and memories shared by all who knew them.
A visitation to honor Paul's life will take place on March 10 at Galante Funeral Home in Union, from 2 PM - 7 PM. A Mass will be held the following day at Holy Spirit Church in Union at 10:30 AM to celebrate and remember the impact Paul had on all those fortunate enough to know him. Entombment will be at Graceland Memorial Park in Kenilworth.
