Peregrina Barreiro

Peregrina Barreiro (nee Otero), 88 of Newark passed away at Morristown Memorial Hospital on February 7, 2014.

The Funeral is from the Galante Funeral Home 17 Pacific St. Newark on Wednesday at 8:30 AM. Funeral Mass is at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church at 9:30 AM. Entombment is at Holy Cross Cemetery. Visitation is on Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM.

Born in Spain, Peregrina lived in New York City before moving to Newark. She was very affectionate toward animals.

Peregrina was the wife of the late Vicente Barreiro. She was the beloved mother of Vicente, Manuel, George, Margarita, Maria Isabel, MaryLou Barreiro, and the late Gonzalo Barreiro. She was the loving grandmother of nine: Eric, Cristina, Lisa, Anthony, George, Olivia, Deanna, Samantha and Michael. She was also the loving great-grandmother of five: Ashley, Brandon, Pierce, Madison and Alexandra.

Mrs. Barreiro was a very giving person who helped everyone and never expected anything in return.
