Pilar Alvarez (nee Alvarez), 86 of Linden passed away on March 1, 2013.

The Funeral is from the Galante Funeral Home, 2800 Morris Ave.

Union on Wednesday at 8 AM.

Funeral Mass is at St. Luke Church in North Plainfield at 10 AM.

Entombment is at Hollywood Memorial Park in Union.

Visitation is on Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM.

Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Pilar lived in Spain before moving to the US in 1964. She then lived in Newark for four years before settling in Linden in 1968.

Pilar was a loving mother and Abuela. She took great care of her family and helped raise her three grandsons until they were of school age.

She was the wife of the late Jesus Alvarez. Loving mother of Maria D'Armiento and her husband Basil, Jesus Alvarez, Jr., and Robert Alvarez and his wife Martha. She was the sister of Jose Alvarez and Marina Alvarez. Beloved grandmother of Nicolas Alvarez, Timothy and Stephen D'Armiento.
