Raffaela "Rae" Loria

Raffaela "Rae" Loria, aged 62, died peacefully surrounded by her children on September 7, 2017 at St. Barnabas Medical Center  in Livingston, New Jersey after a battle with cancer.

Rae was born May 22, 1955 in Union, New Jersey, the daughter of Marie and Cataldo Miscioscia.

Rae often shared her wonderful memories growing up with her siblings and many cousins. With games like kick the can. Rae was a social butterfly that loved having adventures. Including a trip to Spain. She enjoyed the beach, concerts, and parties.

Rae wed Anthony Loria Jr. in 1984 shortly after they danced at their Union High School 10 year reunion. The next 15 years were spent creating and raising three beautiful children. They weren't married for much longer after that, but they stayed close and remained friends until the end.

Her family paid this tribute to her, "Rae was one of the kindest and sweetest people you could ever meet. She opened her ears to anyone that needed someone to listen. She opened her mouth to speak words of kindness and comfort. She opened her home to those who needed a home. She opened her heart to those that needed love. She gave a lot of herself to others, but what she never gave was her judgment and criticism. Rae was indeed a rare and special gem and she will be sorely missed.

Rae is survived by her parents, Marie and Charles Miscioscia; her brother, Louis; her beloved children, Anthony Joseph III, Deana Marie, Rachel; her nieces, Corinne, Tina, Katelyn and nephew, Nicholas. Rae will now be lovingly reunited with her late sister Karen.

Visitation will take place between 4-8 PM at Galante Funeral Home, 2800 Morris Ave. Union, NJ on Wednesday, September 13.

Funeral services will be held at the St. Joseph's Church in Maplewood, NJ on Thursday, September 14 at 12:15PM.

Entombment will follow at Hollywood Memorial Park in Union.
