Ralph J. Latora, 83 of Garfield passed away on January 27, 2018.
A Funeral Service will be held in the Galante Funeral Home, 54 Roseland Ave. Caldwell on Thursday at 10 AM. Interment will follow at Hollywood Memorial Park. Visitation is on Wednesday from 3-7 at the funeral home.
Born in Newark, Ralph proudly served in the Army, stationed in Aberdeen, MD. He moved to West Orange in 1966, later living in Wallington before moving to Garfield 15 years ago. He was a machinist with Duro-Test for many years, retiring 18 years ago. After his retirement, Ralph worked for Scholastic, and the City of Garfield as a school bus aide. He was a lifelong avid bowler, fan of horse racing, and the New York Yankees.
Ralph was the husband of the late Alice (nee Schmeltz); and longtime companion of Milena Nemec; loving father of Deborah Wall, LuAnn Hoehn and her husband Chris, and Kathy Hamilton and her husband Richard; dear grandfather of Meaghan and Tara Wall, Michael and Joseph Corrao and Stephen and Billy Hamilton; great-grandfather of Phillip Hamilton; and brother of Angelo Latora and his wife Lois, and William Sirchio and his wife Marion. Ralph is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
